On this Wednesday the first classic car show held in the famous exhibition halls of the Art Basel opened its doors to the public. The Grand Basel clearly sets the focus on blending the classic car scene with the art world. The cars were presented with a lot of room for spectators on completely white and bright lit booths. Although the general atmosphere was very imposing, the display of the cars seemed a bit sterile at times, especially due to the lack of information on the cars’ history. Nevertheless, a lot of historically very significant cars were shown – besides a BRM P83 16 cylinder, the only Ferrari 250 GT SWB California with aluminium body and important race history and the first World Championship winning F1 of Michael Schumacher, a lot of other highlights were brought to Basel.
