The first Goodwood Revival in 1998 was still held in a more private atmosphere. In 2018 the Duke of Richmond and Gordon already celebrates the 20-year anniversary of this great event with nowadays more than 150.000 spectators attending. One of the cars we were racing at this year’s event was already present at the very first edition in 1998.

With our Ferrari 250 GT SWB Competizione, a former North American Racing Team car, we participated in the Kinrara Trophy. With our ex-Autodelta Alfa Romeo GTA, we raced in the very competitive St. Mary’s Trophy. Max and Moritz shared both cars as a team. Since the SWB is setup mainly for road usage, the car was raced in a cruise mode heavily leaning on each side in the quick corners. Nevertheless, the one-hour race into dusk was very entertaining and resulted in a 15th place overall.

In the St. Mary’s Trophy, we finished on a 5th place overall as best Alfa Romeo with our GTA. While most drivers in the professional race on Saturday behaved very civilized, a few competitors caused heavy and avoidable crashes in the amateur race, luckily without any impact on our car. However, we still had a very enjoyable weekend and hope to return again in the following years.
