1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso – #5217GT
Chassis number 5217GT is a beautiful and well-preserved Ferrari 250 GT Lusso in long-term ownership in Germany. The early history of the Lusso from 1976 onwards is fully known. It has been delivered to Crepaldi Automobili in Milan when new and has later been exported to the US, where it stayed until 2003. It was then sold to the previous owner Karl-Gustav Diederichs in Germany.
Mr. Diederichs commissioned Modena Motorsport in Langenfeld, Germany to undertake a comprehensive restoration for the total costs of 110.000 € in 2005.
After the restoration Mr. Diederichs kept the Lusso for another five years, until he sold the Ferrari to the current German owner. Although the restoration is already 15 years old, the car still presents itself in a very well-preserved state. The Lusso has been carefully looked after by the current owner and it runs and drives incredibly well.
The car benefits from a major service in November 2020 at Eberlein Automobile in Kassel, including a new set of tires. The certification process at Ferrari Classiche has been started. According to Eberlein Automobile the numbers of the engine, gearbox and differential are matching the “Dati Produzione” sheet, that was issued with the start of the certification process.
A beautiful, hardly used and therefore almost “fresh-out-of-restoration” 250 GT Lusso.
